ENUCO – EQUINE NUTRITION CONFERENCE VIENNA

Posted on Oct 8, 2007

TRM recently presented a research paper on the TRM ulcer product GNF at the prestigious Equine Nutrition Conference (ENUCO) held in Vienna, Italy. The paper which was presented to leading veterinarians and nutritionists from throughout the World was an “investigation into the efficacy of a commercially available gastric supplement GNF for the treatment and prevention of Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS)”.

GNF is a unique supplement for daily feeding to horses in order to maintain optimum gut health and function while allowing maximum utilization of feed. During 2006 a clinical study was undertaken to assess the benefits of feeding GNF in a National Hunt thoroughbred training yard.

The research paper concluded that Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) has been found to be widely prevalent in both racing, and non-racing horses. The trial investigated the efficacy of the product in the treatment of EGUS and found that horses supplemented with GNF for six weeks showed significant (P<0.05) reduction in overall ulcer score. It was therefore be concluded that GNF had positive results in reducing the severity of EGUS in affected horses.
